Feline Health Related Links

Last Updated: Monday, February 01, 2010

We have done our best to include links to pages on over 100 feline health topics, as well as general topics such as travel with your pet and quarantine regulations. Because this list of links has grown extensively over the last two years and now covers over 100 subjects, we have alphabetized and cross-referenced the list to make it easier to find a topic. If you wish to search for a specific topic, we suggest using CTRL F to start your search option.

The following links are included here for informational and educational purposes only. Please be aware that the Internet Cat Club has no control over the content of any of these sites and that web sites may change their content frequently. The linking to these sites should not be taken as an endorsement of either the content or ideas expressed at these sites.

If you have a health question with regards to your cat, your veterinarian is your best source of information. Diagnosis and treatment of specific conditions should always be in consultation with one's own veterinarian.

Published scientific articles are listed occasionally, and these may possibly be found at local veterinary college libraries or with the help of your veterinarian. The year of the publication is included in each listing and it should be noted that more current information may now be available. If we have found an online abstract of a published scientific article, we have included the link which will contain the publication cite.

Occasionally, a web master will get the urge to totally reorganize a web site, which creates havoc with linked lists such as ours. So, if you find a link that does not work, please let us know. In May 2007, we completed a complete check of each of these links to confirm that they are indeed working links. We'd like to keep this list as up-to-date as possible, and appreciate your help in doing so.

RECOMMENDED BOOK:

  • FELINE HUSBANDRY, Neils C. Pedersen, DVM, PhD, 1991. Contains a wonderful 45 page chapter on the design and management of a cattery - complete with photos, plans, standards and guidelines. Highly recommended.

While used copies of Feline Husbandry are sometimes available through amazon.com, they command a high price. PDF files of the chapters in this book have been made available by Dr. Pedersen for free download on the UC Davis Center for Companion Animal Health web site. A revision is currently underway.
